FiberClay Low Permeability Soil

FiberClay is a pulp and paper mill residual used by landfills throughout New England.  It can be used as alternate daily cover, intermediate cover, as a component of a wedge fill or grading and shaping layer, or as a cap.  Our engineers have studied FiberClay extensively.  We know it works and so do others. Placing Intermediate Cover

Placing FiberClay as the low permeability layer in intermediate cover system at the Brunswick, Maine Graham Road Landfill in June, 2005.  The Town crew used their own staff and equipment to place the FiberClay with ease and efficiency.

Delivering final load of FiberClay

The final load of FiberClay is delivered to the Brunswick, Maine Graham Road Landfill 1 acre intermediate cover project in 2005.  The area was then covered with a 6 inch layer of BioMix Manufactured Topsoil, also from New England Organics.

Placing FiberClay Barrier Layer

FiberClay is placed as the 24 inch barrier layer in the final closure of the Wakefield, New Hampshire, Landfill in 2002.  A 10 acre site, the Wakefield Landfill has 3:1 slopes.

Compacting FiberClay Final Cover

At the Wakefield, NH Landfill closure in 2002, contractors use a 12,000 lb smooth drum roller to compact the FiberClay layer to meet the project hydraulic conductivity specification of 1X 10-5 cm/sec.
